06 Ekacakra Dham
After Yjiya Ganj we journeyed to the transcendental Ekacakra dham, the village where Lord Nityananda was born and spent the first 12 years of His earthly life. Some of the Holy places here are Lord Nityananda’s original birth place (Vircandrapur), Pandava Tala, Hantugada or Jahnu Kund, the Bakula tree (were Nitai used to perform childhood pastimes with His friends), Padmavati Kund, Kudu Kund (where Nitai used to bathe), Nityananda Visram Tala, and Kadam Khandi, Bakha Ray Temple (Lord Krishna’s deity), Jagannatha Temple and a Sivalinga Temple, just to mention a few places. We visited many of those places. Lord Nityananda is the eternal associate of Caitanya Mahaprabhu, the Supreme Personality of Godhead and Mahaprabhu cannot be approached or understood without His mercy so we all took this wonderful opportunity to beg for His mercy. Here the safari devotees performed 2 dramas remembering Lord Nityananda’s pastimes. HH Jayapataka Swami acted as the cloud Sambartaka . We had a fabulous time!
On the way to Farakka-dam we had a picnic where we cooked our own prasadam and later we boarded a huge ship which was waiting for us on the bank of the Ganges to take us up to Kanai Natsala. The ship was arrange by an ISKCON life member who wanted to do some service for the devotees. We were entirely under Ganga Mayi’s shelter.
