Barsana, a sleepy little town in Uttar Pradesh is famous for Lathmar Holi. Tiny and forgotten for most of the year, this little hamlet comes alive during Holi and is suddenly on the tourist map for its Radha-Rani Temple. The only one in the world, I am told, and its quaint Holi. The women in a replay of a myth, use lathis or batons in simulated beating of the men from neighboring village of Nandgaon. In midst of all this colour, in sharp contrast, their lived a group of widows and women who have dedicated themselves to worship of, Krishna.
