Celibacy, sex and brahmacarya
Brahmacarya, literally meaning "spiritual practice", refers to a life-style characterized by abstinence from sex. While the termbrahmacārī generally refers to a young student of the sacred scriptures, a member of the first āśrama, it is also used for anyone observing brahmacarya-vrata, a vow of abstinence. Among all vows, brahmacarya is called the bṛhad-vrata, or "the great vow". More info >>
