Moon hoax (also known as Moon landing hoax or Apollo hoax) refers to the doubt or dissent that men landed on the Moon in 1969–1972 during the Apollo programme.  Questioning the veracity of the moon-landings is close to an absolute taboo in scientific circles.  But on the Internet, the debate  between NASA defenders and Moon sceptics goes on, and public support for the latter grows. An official admission of a hoax would likely have the most grave consequences for NASA, the USA, and all people and organisations involved in space exploration worldwide. It would also challenge the future manned Moon and Mars missions.
