Interview with Jason Lapeyre (Monkey On A Stick Movie)
By editor - 22.10 2024
Directed by Jason Lapeyre, MONKEY ON A STICK is a devastating doc that genuinely sends shivers down the spine. By telling the story of devotees such as Nori Muster, MONKEY investigates the horrors of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON). Beginning with a (semi) earnest invitation to others to experience inner peace and find meaning, ISKCON quickly devolved into an organization of corruption and fear.
With crimes that range from the exploitation of women to stockpiling weapons, ISKCON’s gurus created a web of fear and abuse, covering it under the name of God. In this 1on1, we speak to Lapeyre about the line between religion and faith and toxic leaders.
PADA: Genuinely sends shivers down the spine. Corruption, crimes, fear, exploiting, child abuse, toxic leaders (i.e. not gurus) etc. Yep, about sums it up. How can a "toxic leader" be Krishna's guru successor? Even they can see -- what is what -- here. It is just a few hold out fanatics, or paid salary staff, who cannot see, because they benefit from supporting these toxic leaders.
When I used to visit my friend Dr. J. Stilson Judah, he told me -- "your life is in severe danger. I am thinking you won't be here anymore to meet me for our next meeting date. They will take you out if they think they can get away with it." Yes, and he was right, they would have taken me out, if it was not for interference from the FEDS and the Berkeley police etc.
Yeah, he was afraid for my life. But a lot of other "Hare Krishna devotees" were hoping my life would end as well, not just some of the leaders. OK but Krishna wanted us to live -- and a number of them, like Bhakti Caru, Gopal Krishna, Gunagrahi, Bombay Sridhara, Jayatirtha, their cheer leaders like BR Sridhara and BV Narayan Maharaja, and Tamal, Kirtanananda, Bhakti Tirtha, Kadamba Kanan and many others -- went away long before me. And others, like Mahatma, Ravindra, Jayapataka, Giriraj, Prabhavishnu, Sivarama and others, are barely hanging on. Their empire is collapsing.
In sum, Krishna wanted this expose to come out, and reveal who these leaders really are, and it is. And the truth of who these leaders really are is coming out more and more with the poison issue and many other issues. They are not going to survive all this expose over the long haul, and they probably know that by now, we are going forward, they are going down.
I hereby heartily and tearfully thank Krishna for allowing me to live long enough to see these guys getting more and more of the expose they so rightly deserve. We cannot allow these jerks to continue to pose as God's successors, it is an insult to God, and no devotee of God should acquiesce with them. EVER!!!!
The movie is in Canada now, and is supposed to have a large launch after Sundance, but I will keep you all posted as info comes in.

RMD: Great Interview by Screen Fish with Jason Lapeyre who produced the documentary, & told through the eyes of Nori Muster and Rukmini Heidi Dasa, Srimad, Lakshmi, Sanaka Rsi & many other peers who grew up within the Hare Krishna boarding school system from the young tender age of sometimes even 3 years old until we just couldn't take it anymore.
"Monkey on a Stick", which is now showing in movie theaters in CANADA is uncovering the truth that has not been seen or heard in a movie theater ever before. I was interviewed by Jason & and speaking about my childhood upbringing as a Hare Krsna in the Gurukula / Boarding schools within ISKCON. I told him about my deepest, darkest hell that I survived, and about my greatest bliss that I experienced in the presence of Srila Prabhupada.
I have lived and endured all the terrors and huge battle scars as a survivor of severe child abuse. They worst of it was done by some of the most powerful leaders of the Hare Krsna movement, AK ISKCON. The worst of it for me is that there are still recent child abuse reports that the ISKCON CPO International and North American CPO Team is diligently working on each cases; one by one to exile to these perpetrators out of their high positions and out of ISKCON.
I had the great fortune to meet the founder of the Hare Krsna / Hare Krishna movement Srila Prabhupada as a small child. He showered me with his pure love and filled me with so much bliss that I still feel his love in my life. He wanted us to be cared for with upmost love and respect, by the most qualified teachers and care givers. Well, that didn't happen !!!
These (deviant) people that have infiltrated his movement ought to feel shame for all the crimes that they have and still are committing towards innocent children and adults of ISKCON internationally. I have taken a strong stand to speaking my truth and am exposing all those who harmed me!!! I encourage you to also speak your truth.
I encourage you all to see this epic Documentary, Monkey On A Stick produced by Jason Lapeyre and let me know what you think.
