Northeast states
This least visited part of India is one of the most beautiful areas you will find in India. The seven northeastern states are connected by only a narrow strip of land to the rest of India. The hilly area is mainly populated by tribal people, who have a vastly different culture than the rest of India.
Ancient lands mentioned in the Indian epics are part of modern day Assam. This land has been the center of Shakti worship for centuries. Also held in reverence here have been the Saivite, Vaishnava and the centers of Sun Worship.
Manipur is a state in north east India with Imphal as its capital. The name Manipur literally means "Land of Jewels" and the state has a rich culture which can be seen in martial arts, dance, theatre and sculpture.
