It was in 1988 that Radha Kund and Syama Kund appeared like this last time. Approximately once in 20 years these glorious holy places undergo this kind of spring-cleaning. The kundas are cleaned one by one after draining the water.
Syama Kund is practically empty, but Radha Kund has some water, however it stays so low that the pilgrims can see the steps constructed by Raghunatha Dasa Goswami. Normally these steps are under water, but these days the pilgrims offer their worship to Radha Kund sitting on these steps, which are closest to the water
