Krishna Lila Theme Park – a unique religious tourism destination in Bengaluru.

The Krishna Lila Theme Park is a magnificent cultural complex being set up at Vaikuntha Hill, a 28 acre hillock on Kanakapura Road, Bengaluru for the presentation of the message and pastimes from the great epics of India. This will become yet another important cultural and religious tourism destination in Bengaluru with the characteristics and societal benefits as any other tourism project.

The grand-scale project with an estimated cost of Rs. 700 crores is conceived by the devotees of ISKCON Bangalore and is an unprecedented historical venture being attempted for the first time in the country.

Today, our children’s minds are obsessed with Superman, Spiderman and such other characters coming from the West. Hence the project aims to impress upon the younger generation the glorious pastimes of our Vedic heroes like Krishna, Rama and Hanuman and instill in their minds the deep values they represent.

The cultural complex is a harmonious fusion of traditional temple design and modern architecture with two temples on the ground level – Sri Puri Jagannath Mandir and Sri Radha Krishna Mandir.

Srila Prabhupada (Founder-Acharya of International Society for Krishna Consciousness) taught the principles of yukta vairagya: Not to reject something of this world as material, but suitably engage everything in Lord Sri Krishna’s service for the upliftment of humanity. These principles of yukta vairagya that he taught underlie the Krishna Lila Theme Park project, where modern technology and management practices converge for the execution of this mega endeavor in the service of God and mankind.

The Deities of Sri Jagannatha, Baladeva and Subhadra along with the Deity of Sri Sudarshana Narasimha have already been installed in the month of January 2013.

There will be a shrine to honor the contributions of Srila Prabhupada to the modern society. This will present his life and works through dioramas in elaborate thematic settings to tell the most moving story of human sacrifice and compassion. The complex will also contain several classrooms, audio-visual halls, Vedic library, staff rooms, administrative offices and related facilities for the dissemination of Vedic wisdom.

Five thousand years ago, Gokul was the home to Krishna’s magical childhood where he performed innumerable loving pastimes. When Indra threatened the Vrajavasis with torrential rains, blasts of thunder and lightening, and the consequent over flooding of Yamuna – all to inundate the village, And if you were present there how would you experience all this????? And the relief the village residents felt when Krishna lifted the Govardhan Hill and protected them!

The proposed Krishna Lila Park will give such an experience to the visitors. The main complex building will be about 360 feet tall, with a viewing gallery at 500 ft level.

This hi-tech amusement park to be constructed in Bangalore on 28 acre will be the 1st theme park in India with the quality of world class theme parks like Disney World and Universal Studios.

Already Rs 4-5 crore has been spent on the design. The project will cost Rs 350 crore. Work on theme park to take off on, Sunday Jun 20th, 2010.
